2025 Season Preview: Alonzo de Oliveira – Chasing National Karting Glory!

 

Young South African karting sensation Alonzo de Oliveira is set for a thrilling 2025 season as he takes on his third and final year in the Bambino class. With an impressive track record, including the 2024 Northern Regions Bambino Championship title, Alonzo now sets his sights on the biggest prize yet: national honours in the highly competitive South African Rotax MAX Challenge (SARMC).

 

The SARMC will see Alonzo compete against the country's best young talents, battling across four rounds in three provinces: Gauteng, the Western Cape, and KwaZulu-Natal. With national titles on the line, every race will be crucial in his quest to become South Africa’s top Bambino driver.

 

Meanwhile, the Northern Regions Rotax Kart Championship remains a key focus. Alonzo aims to defend his regional crown across eight rounds, some of which will also count toward national points.

 

Adding to the excitement, Alonzo will also take on the 2025 Africa Open, where drivers from across the continent will compete for a ticket to the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals (RMCGF) in Bahrain. While the Bambino class does not compete at the RMCGF, the event remains a golden opportunity for Alonzo to test himself against Africa’s finest.
