Luhan de Wet Geared Up for 2025 Karting Season

Centurion-based karting sensation Luhan de Wet is ready to take on the 2025 season with high ambitions and a determined mindset. Following a stellar 2024 campaign that saw him finish as the Northern Regions Micro MAX Vice-Champion, Luhan, the 2023 National Cadet Champion, aims to build on his success as he embarks on another year of intense competition.

The South African Rotax MAX Challenge (SARMC) championship will unfold over four rounds across three provinces: Gauteng, the Western Cape, and KwaZulu-Natal. With national champions set to be crowned at the end of the season, Luhan will be looking to make his mark in the fiercely competitive Micro MAX class. However, per regulations, his only opportunity to secure an entry to the prestigious 2025 Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals (RMCGF) in Bahrain will be via victory at the African Open.

The African Open, a high-stakes event held at a different venue every four years, will again offer African drivers the chance to compete for a coveted seat at the RMCGF. With everything on the line, Luhan will entirely focus on delivering his best performance at this crucial event. In addition to his national and African Open aspirations, Luhan will compete in the eight-round regional championship, aiming to dominate the field while sharpening his skills for the bigger stage. Some of these regional events will count towards his national championship points tally, further amplifying their importance in his 2025 campaign.

Luhan’s journey is proudly supported by De Wet Automotive Service & Repair, the family-owned business that has been instrumental in his racing career. Additionally, he has been selected as a brand ambassador for Motorsport Fanatix™, further solidifying his status as one of the rising stars in South African karting. The Louis Leipodlt student will race out of the Xtreme Racing Team stable again.

With a packed schedule, top-tier support, and an unwavering drive to succeed, Luhan is set to be a key contender in the 2025 season. All eyes will be on him as he takes to the track to pursue championship glory and a dream ticket to Bahrain.
