Tjaden Tromp, the youngest competitor in the Formula Vee South Africa Championship, is set to race at the iconic Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit again this season. Alongside his fellow competitors, the talented Bapsfontein driver will compete in two exhilarating races on Saturday.
Formula Vee SA will join several other race classes this weekend as part of the final round of the South African Endurance Series. At just 14 years old, Tjaden took to the Johannesburg circuit earlier this season. Now, at 15, he continues to inspire as the youngest participant in the championship, proving that age is no barrier to chasing dreams.
"It's such an exciting prospect to be racing at Kyalami again. We don't get many opportunities, so participating at my age at a circuit steeped in so much history is an absolute privilege. I won't lie; I'm pretty excited and can't wait to get into the seat tomorrow for the first practice. Thank you to everyone for the support and making this a reality for me," said Tjaden.
The event begins on Thursday with three practice sessions, followed by the crucial qualifying round in the afternoon. While the event will continue on Friday, Tjaden will return to the circuit on Saturday for his two race heats. Race 1 is scheduled for 08:10, and Race 2 will take place at 10:30.
Tjaden thanks Pretoria Noord Toyota, DOE Quality Parts, Solergy Solutions, Forza Racing, Man vs Machine, LIQUI MOLY and Super Vee South Africa.
